Namibia looks to improve trade with African continent beyond SACU member states

Namibia's trade deficit with the rest of Africa has widened from N$3.8 billion in August to N$4.4 billion in September 2021. The CEO of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), Charity Mwiya says this means Namibia sells less to the rest of Africa, as most of its trade is concentrated on SACU. Mwiya spoke at the two-day validation workshop of Namibia's Strategy and Implementation Plan for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in Windhoek on Thursday.
