Namibia now has 45 positive COVID-19 cases

Namibia has five new positive cases of COVID-19. Confirmed Cases: 45 Recoveries: 19 Active Cases: 26 Case No 41 is a 10-year-old Namibian female from Walvis Bay, a daughter and a contact of Case No 34. She does not have COVID-19 related symptoms. Case No 42 is a 40-year-old Namibian male, from Walvis Bay, a contact of case number 34. He has no COVID-19 related symptoms. Case No 43 is a 38-year-old Namibian female, from Walvis Bay. She is a contact of both Cases No 32 and Case No 34. Case No 44 is a 36-year-old Namibian male from Walvis Bay. He is a contact of Case No 34. He had been in quarantine since he was identified as a contact. He does not have COVID-19 related symptoms. Case No 45 is a 28-year-old Namibian female from Walvis Bay. She is a contact of Case No 34. She has a runny nose but otherwise, she is in a satisfactory condition. All these cases are in quarantine. Case No 32 gave rise to Case No 34, who then gave rise to Cases No 41, 42, 43, 44 and 45. This is a cluster transmission in a close setting.
