Namibia records 44 new COVID-19 cases and 94 new recoveries

Namibia today recorded 44 confirmed COVID-19 cases, from 729 samples tested. Of the 17 cases from Windhoek, five (5) are learners from three different schools. Thirteen cases from Oshakati district are from institutions, a correctional facility and schools. 94 new recoveries were also recorded, bringing the total number of recoveries to 11,438. Despite the reducing numbers, Deputy Health Minister Dr Utjua Muiniangue cautioned Namibians to continue adhering to the preventive measures such as frequently handwashing with soap and running water, hand sanitization, consistently and correctly wearing of face masks, observing physical distancing and as much as possible avoiding crowded places.
