Namibian truck drivers isolated in Gobabis test negative

The two Namibian truck drivers who were admitted to an isolation unit at Gobabis after they tested positive for COVID-19 in Botswana last week, were released on Monday after testing negative twice. Health Director in the Omaheke Region, Jeremiah Shikulo, on Tuesday, told Nampa the men were transported to an isolation unit in Gobabis from the Trans-Kalahari border post after being refused entry into Botswana on 15 June 2020. They were tested on 16 June 2020 and the results came back negative on 18 June, he said. They were tested again on 18 June and the results, released on 21 June, were also negative. Shikulo said, “all their contacts were traced and swabs obtained and their results came back negative as well.”
