Namibia's COVID-19 death toll approaching 1000 mark

Sixty-three COVID-19 patients remain in ICUs across the country, while eight more fatalities were recorded. The country's death toll, fast approaching the 1000 mark now stands at 920. The Ministry of Health has announced 385 new cases from 13 regions. Khomas tops the list with 153, followed by Erongo at 74 while Hardap came in third with 42 cases. The education sector remains in the spotlight with 74 new cases. Ten health care workers also tested positive for COVID-19. 76 259 people, the ministry indicated have received their first dose of Astra Zeneca and Sinopharm vaccines. Those who received the second dose are 11 608. 358 people have been cleared of COVID-19.
