Namibia's COVID-19 testing capacity increases

In recent days there has been an upward trend in COVID-19 testing and with this, Minister of Health, Dr Kalumbi Shangula said results will now become available in a shorter period of time. A case in point is the testing of 1 197 samples in the past 24 hours. "NIP have extended its capacity and now have test sites in Windhoek, Oshakati, Keetmanshoop and Walvis Bay. Other laboratories that came on board are Pathcare, Namdeb and Unam who are already doing the tests. Two more laboratories are being prepared to be able to do COVID-19 tests," he said.
