NAMPOL records four murders and three attempted murders over the weekend

The Namibian Police Force (NAMPOL) has recorded four murders and three attempted murders over the weekend. Police spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi says two of the murders and two of the attempted murders were done by partners of the victims. She says a 37-year-old man hacked and killed his 28-year-old partner with a panga at Oohambo DaNehale informal settlement on Saturday. At Gobabis on the same day, a 24-year-old man attending a wedding was stabbed in the chest and died at the wedding venue. Shikwambi says in the latest crime update that a man hit his 30-year-old wife with a hammer, killing her instantly at Okahandja Park. A 21-year-old man stabbed and killed by a 34-year-old man at Otjomuise on Friday. On the same day at Outjo, an ex-boyfriend of a 30-year-old woman stabbed her several times in the head with a knife and dragged her to nearby bushes. She is hospitalised. In a separate incident at Swakopmund, a 30-year-old man hit a 39-year-old man with a bottle in the face and damaged his eye on Saturday. At Kombat the same day, a 21-year-old man hit his partner with a bottle leaving her with serious injuries. All the suspects were arrested except in the Gobabis case, and the husband who has fled after killing his wife.
