Parents, communities and academics need to take active roles in promoting and advocating for the use of mother tongue to preserve native languages. The sentiments were shared at NBC Radio Services International Mother Tongue Day held in Windhoek. The Director-General of the NBC, Stanley Similo and professor Kingo Mchombu from the International University of Namibia (IUM) emphasised the importance of using language to unify people.
