The Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry is appealing for intervention to resolve the security crisis in SADC, saying if left unresolved, it can cause serious economic and social consequences. Chief Executive Officer Charity Mwiya says the recent surge in civil unrest could lead to an influx of immigrants into neighbouring countries, congestion at borders posts and delays in transporting of food and other essential items. Subsequently, the riots could lead to an unavoidable rise in inflation.
