Ndeitunga calls on all stakeholders to adhere to the Electoral Act

The Inspector-General of the Namibian Police Force (NAMPOL) has called on all stakeholders to adhere to the Electoral Act during next month's Regional Council and Local Authority Elections. Lieutenant General Sebastian Ndeitunga made the remarks in a recent interview with NAMPA, on the preparations of the Namibian Police for the upcoming elections set for 25 November. The NAMPOL inspector general said the force is ready to maintain law and order during campaigns by participating political parties. He said that the police have over the years accumulated enough experience in election issues, and have always ensured the safety of ballot papers and other election materials during transportation. Special voting for sea-going personnel, police officers, soldiers, members of the Namibia Correctional Services and those, who will be on duty on election day is set for 13 November. Namibians will go to the polls to elect representatives in all 121 constituencies and 57 local authorities.
