The Neckartal Dam on the outskirts of Keetmanshoop in the //Kharas Region is now 28,5% full after this weekend's rainfall. The Namibian Government invested N$5 billion into the construction of the dam, making it the biggest Government investment in the region. After this weekend's rain, the dam has now a volume of 244,2 million cubic metres of water. The Neckartal Dam can hold up to 850 million cubic metres of water and will soon be used for an irrigation project of about 5 000 hectares.
