A New police station, constructed at a cost of more than N$75 million, is now operational in Windhoek's Otjomuise suburb. Otjomuise, known as the place of steam in Otjiherero, is a township in north-western Windhoek. It is also home to many of Windhoek's informal settlements such as Agste Laan. The community has been requesting for a police station in their area for a long time because of incidents such as house breaking, assault, murder and rape that are frequently reported in the area.
