President Hage Geingob has declared the late former Vice-President Nickey Iyambo a national hero. The President further directed that a period of national mourning be observed from 29 May to 1 June. During this period, all flags are expected to be flown at half mast. The first memorial service will be held at Oniimwandi village in the Oshikoto Region on Saturday. The second memorial service will be held on 31 May in Windhoek at Parliament Gardens. Dr Iyambo's remains will be interred at Heroes Acre next week Saturday.
