Members of the #Nossob family group /Gowanin Community are requesting to be resettled on commercial farms surrounding the vicinity of Nossob River, East of Windhoek, which they claim to be their ancestral land. The group marched to the Land Reform Ministry where they handed over a petition detailing their demands. The group spokesperson, Heinrich !Hoxobeb said the community was forcefully removed from their land where their great grandparents are buried. !Hoxobeb said the community resided in the area of Nossob River, which covers the areas of Seeis, the including the Hosea Kutako International Airport, Neudamm and other surrounding areas. He said now that there are three commercial farms available for resettlement. They appealed to the Agricultural, Water and Land Reform Ministry to consider them as a priority to resettled there. The group says they are currently suffering because they are separated from their ancestors and they have to ask for permission from farm owners to visit the graves of their late parents or even to bury their love ones.
