The National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO) on Tuesday announced the names of candidates to represent the party in the Regional Council and Local Authority elections on 25 November 2020. NUDO last week held its internal elective conferences at the settlements of Okondjatu, Okamatapati, Coblenz, Okakarara and Otjituo in the Otjozondjupa Region. Presiding commissioner of the internal party elections, Benestus Uahupirapi in a statement seen by NAMPA on Tuesday indicated that eight candidates contested the position of regional constituency councillor for Okakarara. “The duly elected candidate from these eight names and who will compete with other political parties in the Okakarara Regional Constituency elections under NUDO is Abdal Ramana Mutjavikua,” said Uahupirapi. He further stated that the seven other party members who internally competed with Mutjavikua were Jackson Hindjou, Nocky Kaapehi, Tjiponi Kamapunga, Marama Kavita, Kaorongana Mbaha, Abross Mundjindjiri and Tjeripo Tjikuua. A total of 2 836 votes were counted from the five settlements and Mutjavikua obtained 499, followed by Tjikuua with 482, said Uahupirapi. The Okakarara district with a local authority also elected its seven candidates to represent Nudo in the local authority elections. They are Jackson Ngairo, Uapaha Jazukuka, Golden Katjatako, Sigfried Tjehiua, Merry-Jane Kaovere, Timotheus Mundjindjiri and Uazuva Tjiriange. -NAMPA
