Okahandja-Otjiwarongo roadblock officials suspend record keeping due to long queues

The health director of Otjozondjupa, Gebhardo Timotheus has given a directive that officials at checkpoints only check temperatures of travellers and only alert health officials if a traveller has recorded an abnormal temperature, due to long queues at the Okahandja-Otjiwarongo roadblock. At least 200 travellers have passed this roadblock without their temperature and travel history being recorded since NBC arrived this morning. Only one health representative is at the checkpoint and army officials are taking the temperature. The chief medical officer of Okahandja State Hospital Dr Mohan Kumar says that the hospital is understaffed and that he cannot provide more staff to keep record.
