A farmer and businessman in the Omaheke Region have mobilised his friends, both locally and from South Africa, to purchase much-needed oxygen machines for the Gobabis Hospital. Walter Kinnear decided to mobilise funds to buy six machines following an incident in which a patient died while en route to Windhoek for further medical treatment from Gobabis. The patient tested positive for COVID-19.
