A one-year-old baby was found dead in a dry river, 12 Kilometres from Omaruru, after she was reported missing on Friday. It is alleged that the mother, Linda Tjiuana, travelled to Omaruru on Thursday, to take her other children for immunisation at the state hospital. Police say, she however left her one-year-old baby girl with family members at a plot. On Friday, she was allegedly notified that her baby had gone missing and she alerted police, who immediately conducted a search in the area. The baby's lifeless body was soon discovered in a dry river and taken to the morgue for an autopsy. Investigations are ongoing while no foul is suspected.
