Government has only received N$8,4 million from the auction of fishing quotas. Finance Minister, Ipumbu Shiimi says this is mainly due to the non-payment by successful bidders after two rounds of auctions. This is a big drop from the initial N$628 million which was offered by 13 successful bidders during the first round of the auction.
