The Otavi Town Council is forging ahead with the implementation of developmental projects such as the rehabilitation of roads, expansion of sewer systems in the informal settlements and establishing of a permanent open market, despite limited resources and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the country's economy. This was said by the town's Mayor George Garab in an interview with NBC News.
