PDM condemns ECN for failing to conduct sound elections in some parts of the country

The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) has condemned the ECN for failing to conduct sound elections in some parts of the country. He says the re-run of the election in some local authorities in the south will cost the taxpayers money and that is squarely due to the inefficiency of the electoral body. PDM secretary-general (SG), Manuel Ngaringombe also cited a number of elections mishaps in some parts of the Otjozondjupa Region and warn ECN to pull up its socks or else it cost the country's hard-earned democracy. He further hailed the party's performance in the just-ended regional and local authority elections though it performed unsatisfactorily in most parts. Ngaringombe welcomed the party’s victory in three constituencies in the Kunene Region, especially Epupa, Opuwo Urban and Rural as well as a landslide victory in the Khomas Region's Katutura Central Constituency, which, for a long time, was a stronghold of the ruling party. The official opposition member further indicated that his party is pleased with joining other opposition parties to govern in some local authorities.
