Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) president, McHenry Venaani says his party won't mind rejoining the City of Windhoek Coalition for the interest of the inhabitants. Venaani held a media conference in the capital. PDM and Affirmative Repositioning (AR) initially withdrew themselves from the voting process for council office bearers which saw Landless People Movement (LPM) and National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO) councillors elected as mayor and deputy mayor respectively. The two movements accused Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) Dr Itula of having side negotiations with LPM. IPC holds the majority seats in the coalition and now dominates the management committee. Venaani however says, with proper engagement, his party is willing to go back into marriage with IPC, NUDO and LPM. PDM president says he is not concerned about occupying a position, if need be they can even serve as ordinary councillors in the coalition, as long as service delivery is prioritised. Asked for comments, IPC leader Dr Panduleni Itula says his party received no notification from PDM indicating their interest to work together again. Dr Itula says it is not clear when and under what coalition agreement they had implicitly "left" the coalition and so seek to "re-join" it again under some unilateral provisions.
