The office of the Presidency says it condemns reports of a personal rift between President Hage Geingob, in his capacity as President of Swapo, and his Vice President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. The report titled "Elevate Swapo VO - Hishonga urges" was carried out in a local newspaper. The presidency, in a statement issued, rejected the report as completely false and further took issue with a lack of identified sources in the story. The publication alleged that a personal rift between President Geingob and the current International Relations Minister and Deputy Prime Minister has impacted government work, to the point of Nandi-Ndaitwah being shunned from official travel delegations. In fact, the presidency says, the two enjoy a warm, cordial and friendly relationship, including in their responsibilities for both party and State.
