President Hage Geingob has appointed three judges to the High Court to help that court deal with its workload. The President has appointed judge Thomas Masuku as a High Court judge for an additional period of five-years starting next January. Geingob further appointed Esi Schimming-Chase and Danie Small as acting judges of the High Court. They will serve the bench from 1 October to 15 December this year. Schimming-Chase is an LL.B Honours graduate from the University of Coventry in the United Kingdom. She was admitted as legal practitioner 18 years ago and previously acted as High Court judge in 2011, 2013 and 2015. Small, who has been appointed to serve the Northern Local Division of the High Court in Oshakati is a former prosecutor, magistrate, Government attorney and Deputy Prosecutor General. He was admitted legal practitioner of the High Court of Namibia in 1985. Small is an LL.B graduate from the University of Potchefstroom, presently the North-West University in South Africa. President Geingob has appointed them on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission.
