President Hage Geingob, an ardent supporter of Arsenal FC, met legendary footballer, Thierry Henry, on the margins of his official visit to France. According to the Namibian Presidency page, President Geingob discussed football, sports and the importance of discipline in sports and in life in general. President Geingob then invited Thierry Henry to visit Namibia. President Geingob is in Europe to attend a number of official engagements, among them the recently concluded One Ocean Summit and the 6th African Union (AU) - European Union (EU) Summit. President Geingob will also hold bilateral meetings with King Philippe of Belgium at the Royal Palace, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov of Bulgaria and Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands. The President will, together with Belgium's Prime Minister Alexander De Croo visit Europe’s second-largest seaport, the Port of Antwerp. This will be followed by the expected signing of the addendum to be added to the existing memorandum of understanding on energy and green hydrogen between Namibia and Belgium.
