President Hage Geingob is in Keetmanshoop to officially open the 7th Congress of the Swapo Party Women's Council. The delegates to the four day gathering are expected to elect a Secretary, deputy Secretary and the central committee members of the Swapo Party Women's Council. Among the contenders for the top position is the current SG Petrina Haingura, her deputy Eunice Iipinge and City of Windhoek Deputy Mayor, Fransina Kahungu.
