President Hage Geingob described Alex Kaputu as a unifying voice in the preservation of oral history and culture. Through language and culture, the late historian highlighted the rich traditions of the OvaHerero community. President Geingob says the late broadcaster leaves behind a legacy of nation-building and service to the Namibians, though his important voice had gone quiet. Geingob consoled the Kaputu family as he spoke to Ovaherero Traditional Authority's senior traditional councillor Vipuira Kapuuo shortly after the death of Kaputu.
