President Hage Geingob has recalled Petrina Haingura from the National Assembly (NA). Haingura was among the eight appointees of the President to the NA. In a letter addressed to Haingura, Geingob stated that he appointed her to NA as she was the Secretary of the Swapo Party Women's Council at the time but lost to Eunice Iipinge, in December 2016, who will also replace her in the NA, according to presidential advisor, Daisry Mathias. Haingura contested for the deputy secretary position at November’s congress. She lost to Marco Hausiku.
