President Geingob thanks Namibians for peaceful and orderly elections

President Hage Geingob has thanked all Namibians for the peaceful and orderly manner in which they conducted themselves during the campaigns leading up to the Local and Regional Authority Elections. No incidences of violence or intimidation were reported to the Namibian Police before and during the elections. To the President, this demonstrates that Namibia's multi-party democracy has grown roots and is maturing. He also expressed his appreciation for those who took time and participated in this democratic process. Geingob said ultimately, democracy and the people of Namibia are the winners. The President declared the 25th of November a public holiday to allow everyone to exercise their democratic right to vote. He was speaking during the 20th COVID-19 public briefing on national response measures.
