Press Secretary in the Presidency, Dr Alfredo Hengari has reiterated, that the letter of the Trade Union Congress of Namibia (TUCNA) is receiving the attention of the President. TUCNA in a letter wants President Geingob to intervene and stop the planned water tariff increases by some local authorities in the country. Hengari says in a statement that President Geingob continues to emphasise a proactive approach to queries, letter, requests and media engagements. This he says include information dissemination as an integral part of public service delivery and effective governance. In a statement, Hengari also reiterated that the activities of the Press Secretary and the media team in the Presidency will at all times endeavour to live up to the high standards of transparency and media access as adopted by the President. In the letter to President Hage Geingob, the trade union singled out the City of Windhoek and expressed dismay over the alleged proposal by some councillors to push for price hikes on water and electricity.
