The Director of Programmes and Quality Assurance in the Ministry of Education, Ayesha Wentworth has appealed to schools to be lenient on learners who do not have winter wear school uniforms. While school uniforms help to promote a sense of equality and belonging, some parents or guardians would dress children in the clothing of their choice as they cannot afford the sometimes expensive winter wear school uniforms.
