The second Land Conference, which was scheduled to take place next month, has been postponed. The announcement was made by President Hage Geingob who said stakeholders such as the Namibia NGO Forum (NANGOF) and churches expressed concern over the little time allocated for preparations and consultations. Meanhwile, NANGOF has commended President Geingob for postponing the land conference. The civil society organisation says it now has time to complete consultations exercise in the remaining regions, after which papers will be prepared on key critical areas of land and agricultural reform. It further undertook to work with the Government and other stakeholders to ensure an effective and successful second land conference.
