Health and Social Services Minister Dr Kalumbi Shangula has denied reports on social media that the country had suspended issuing of the first dose of vaccination against COVID 19 as it had ran out of vaccine. The reports were based on a memo issued by the Omusati regional health director instructing senior medical officers to temporarily stop the administering of the first jab for both AstraZeneca and Sinopharm from 29 June until new stocks arrive. Health director Alfons Amoomo explained in the memo that the decision was taken because of the non-delivery of vaccine stocks that have been ordered in advance.
