The Johannesburg Stock Exchange has lost its attempt to suspend Trustco from the Bourse. The Namibian company brought an urgent application to the High Court in South Africa to stop the JSE from enforcing a decision by the Financial Services Tribunal to suspend the company's listing. The judgement was made yesterday in the Gauteng High Court. In addition to stopping JSE from suspending the financial services company, the court also restrained it from implementing the decision that Trustco restate its annual financial statements for the year ending 31 March 2019, according to a statement issued by Trustco. The JSE was also ordered to pay the cost of the urgent application by Trustco, including the costs of two counsels. The judge, Trustco said, was satisfied that it had established a prima facie right to a fair and just case. Trustco lodged the application against the JSE for failure to follow its listing requirements and the composition of the Financial Services Tribunal, which according to the company, lacked the required accounting experience.
