The University of Namibia (UNAM) has announced the launch of a tracing mobile app that can be used for community-driven contact tracing to stop the spread of COVID-19. The app known as NamCotrace is available on android phones and will soon be rolled out on iOS phones. It will help inform users who might have come into contact with an infected person or who are at a higher risk. Such users will be linked to the national health care system. UNAM said that the system will assist in providing a swift response to inform and isolate potential carriers of the virus while protecting a healthy population.
