The United People's Movement (UPM) political party is raising money to take the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Sophia Shaningwa, to court, over what they term her inability to act swiftly, to address ongoing problems at the Rehoboth Town Council. Meanwhile, the UPM elected Hannalore Lottering from the Hardap Region as National Chairperson for the Women's League. Anna Maricia Titus from Erongo was elected Vice-Chairperson, while Anceline van Wyk was announced as National Treasurer. The Party's National Secretary is Ida Owoses from the Otjozondjupa Region.
