Walvis Bay Urban Constituency Councillor Knowledge Ipinge has threatened to put forward a vote of no confidence against the Minister of Health and Social Services Dr Kalumbi Shangula. In a letter addressed to the minister, Ipinge accuses the minister of ignoring numerous recommendations made by his office. Ipinge says the minister has failed to curb the spread of COVID-19 at the coastal town. He says the military hospital set up at the coastal town has no medical staff with only two beds, according to Ipinge the cleaning staff are exposed to COVID-19 infection, as they are not provided with adequate protective gear. He further accused the health ministry of not caring for those in state isolation facilities, charging that people are forced to leave these facilities in order to find food.
