The two people accused of the murder of Shannon Wasserfall on Monday made their second appearance in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court, where their case was postponed to 17 March 2021. Azaan Madisia, 28, and her 22-year-old brother Steven Mulundu are the two main suspects in the death of Wasserfall who went missing at Walvis Bay in April this year. The two, who appeared before Magistrate Vicky Nicolaidis, are accused of causing Wasserfall’s death and then burying her in a shallow grave on the outskirts of the town. The 22-year-old Wasserfall was reported missing on 10 April 2020 and her remains were discovered on 6 October 2020 after an anonymous text message was sent to the deceased’s father. Madisia made her first appearance in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court on 9 October on charges of murder and defeating or obstructing the course of justice and was subsequently denied bail. Mulundu, who was allegedly contacted by Madisia to help her dispose of Wasserfall’s body, was arrested on 5 November after he handed himself over to the police in Walvis Bay and made his first appearance on the same charges.
