The Meatco co-opted board member Shiwana Ndeunyema says the meat corporation is struggling to produce sufficient meat to ensure increased profits.

Ndeunyema addressed the opening ceremony of Meatco's 'Meat Markets Africa' shop at Kuisebmond in Walvis Bay.

The state-owned enterprise Meatco is a meat-processing and meat-marketing entity that serves niche markets locally and internationally with premium quality products.

Ndeunyema says the brand's vision is to bring Meatco products closer to the Namibian people as end-consumers, in line with the government policy on industrialization and the Growth at Home Strategy.

This he says includes affordable and quality products for low-earning households.

Also speaking at the occasion was Meatco's Chief Executive Officer, Mwilima Mushokabandji, who said the meat and fish industries must complement one another.

He also urged consumers to support the shop.
