The Confederation of African Volleyball Zone 6 Tour concluded at Swakopmund on Saturday with Botswana dominating the proceedings.
The three-day event hosted at the coastal town of Swakopmund concluded with some mouthwatering action in the finals.
Team Angola and Botswana showed why they are regarded as the powerhouses in Beach Volleyball in Zone VI and Africa at large.
First on the court was the women’s final, Botswana’s pair of Cathy Bioma and Ngirl Wright took on Carla Codinha and Jeovania Cusselama of Angola.
The match however was not a straight walk on the court for either side as they pushed each other to a tie breaker that Botswana eventually won by two-sets-to-one.
Shortly after that, the much anticipated men’s final clash took to the courts. Again just like the women’s final, Angola took on Botswana.
Ricardo Savity and Bruno Makili of Angola were determined to put up a fight against Botswana’s duo of George Chiswaniso and Jack Sekao.
An aggressive clash between these two sides was always expected by many spectators.
In the end Botswana won the match with two clear sets, and winning gold medal in the process.
Angolan team Captain Bruno acknowledged the setback and hopes to bounce back.
The prize ceremony was held at the end of the event to award the deserving winners.
