The first EU/Namibia quality infrastructure forum is underway following a twinning project, providing support to the Namibia Standard Institution and the Industrialization and Trade Ministry.

This entails areas such as standardization, certification, trade, and industry.

The forum, among others, will enhance understanding of how important quality infrastructure is in effectively promoting quality products and services within domestic markets as well as the significance of such infrastructure in facilitating access to international markets.

Additionally, the forum provides a platform for participants to dialogue on quality infrastructure components as well as trade and regulatory issues for nation-building.

MIT’s Executive Director, Sikongo Haihambo, says experts at the forum are expected to provide an overview of linkages between national and international systems and share concrete examples of how the system works.
