The Centre for Resource and Transformation has inaugurated the Ondjombo Lodge at Ruacana Constituency of Omusati Region.

This Lodge is built on the piece of land donated by the Uukolonkadhi Traditional Authority to the Founding President Dr Sam Nuujoma who then gave it to the Swapo Party Women's Council to develop, and thereby assist women in the area.

"I am more than delighted to have been invited to this occasion of the official inauguration of a business product of the Centre for Resource and Transformation (CERET), namely the Ondjombo Lodge to be launched today. Indeed, Ondjombo Lodge is built on a piece of land that was donated to me by the Uukolonkadhi Traditional Authority. I then fenced off the area and brought in some springboks. I also gave the project to the Swapo Party Women Council to develop it and finally, I called the CERET to develop the project in an attempt to assist the women in this area and the region as a whole," said the Acting Chairperson of the Sam Nujoma Foundation, Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana.

Also speaking at the occasion was the Managing Director of the Centre for Resource and Transformation Muetulamba Shingenge.

"Since its inception, it has initiated more than 28 income-generated projects."

The Omusati Swapo Party Women's Council Regional Coordinator Rakel Shoopala also commended Founding President Sam Nujoma for the donation.

"Today is a special day as well as a historical day, whereby we as SPWC observe and witness this golden occasion of the inauguration of Ondjombo Lodge within Ondjombo yakalunga Women Park Natural Area, here at Omudhuwahauwanga Village in Ruacana constituency, Omusati Region."

The lodge was built by a non-profit organisation, CERET, and includes two conference rooms, a modern restaurant and kitchen and accommodation for staff and management.
