Some corporate companies took up the responsibility of organising a cleaning-up campaign in Windhoek's Katutura suburb.
Employees from the diamond industry exchanged their usual working tools such as rakes, spades and wheelbarrows all in an effort to keep Katutura clean.
It was a hive of activity as these men and women gathered dried grass, plastic and bottles.
These were the scenes on display as the employees of the Namibia Diamond Trading Company in partnership with The Diamond Manufacturers' Association of Namibia and Physical Active Youth organized a clean-up campaign at the PAY Centre in Katutura.
PAY Centre is a dynamic after-school centre in Katutura which provides a safe and nurturing learning environment for Namibian children and youth coming from disadvantaged communities.
NDTC's Corporate Affairs Manager, Helena Mootseng highlighted that the campaign is set to motivate the youth to also take up the responsibility of keeping Namibia clean.
Studies have shown that a clean and organised environment helps create a positive learning atmosphere that encourages students to participate in their studies.
