In accordance with the resolutions of the Swapo Party Congress in 2022, the women's wing of the party organised its inaugural activity workshop for the leadership of ||Kharas and Hardap regions at Keetmanshoop.


The objective of the workshop is to offer guidance on the implementation of the congress resolutions through a five-year plan.


In her address to the regional leadership at the workshop's opening, Maria Namupala, a Research and Advisory Cadre member, emphasised the importance of effectively implementing the congress resolutions.

"The single objective is to develop the regional plans and capacitate all regional district leaders to be able to know how to implement this plan effectively."


Matheus Mumbala, the Swapo Party Regional Coordinator for the ||Kharas Region, acknowledged the significant role of women in shaping and contributing to nation-building, as well as implementing government initiatives aimed at poverty eradication and employment creation for Namibians.

"Let us reinsitute our values of solidarity, freedom, and justice as we fight against antisocial practises and behaviours such as crime, illegal substance and alcohol abuse, child abuse, and Gender-Based Violence."

The 8th Congress of the Swapo Party Women's Council adopted resolutions that focused on social integration, education and training, and intergenerational transition.
