The National Council Chairperson, Lukas Sinimbo Muha, has announced the resumption of the eighth session of the National Council, which is scheduled to last for the next three weeks.

He emphasised the importance of a speedy yet effective review process, with a particular focus on the eight urgent Bills that have already been referred to the council.

"We shall commence with the urgent bills before other bills will be considered. It is, therefore, my humble request to you, honourable members, to further ensure the speedy but effective review of the referred bills; by so doing, we will demonstrate our commitment to the Namibian nation and the international community. It will also assist us in escaping being greylisted by the Financial Action Task Force."
