The Kavango West Region is hosting an Unmatched Youth Conference aimed at educating the youth on various aspects of entrepreneurship to uncover their potential.

It is being hosted under the theme 'Awaken Your Unmatched Potential'.

Kavango West Regional Governor Sirkka Ausiku, who officially opened the conference, explained the platform will help identify aspiring entrepreneurs and unlock their potential to be able to help themselves.

The high unemployment rate, particularly in the Kavango West Region, is also of concern to the Governor.

"Unemployment is a challenge in our country, and our region is also affected. Maybe it is important for me to give you the regional statistics on unemployment: it stands at 33%, and youth unemployment stands at 46.8%. It is worrisome for us as a region, which is why we bring you, the youth, as the most affected, to see how you can help us as the GRN tackle this challenge, but you cannot do it alone; we have to do it with our development partners."

Sikongo Haihambo, the Executive Director for the Ministry of Trade and Industrialization, delivered a motivational speech and an orientation that included the agencies and services of the Ministry.

All eight constituencies of the region, namely Kapako, Ncuncuni, Ncamagoro, Musese, Tondoro, Mankumpi, Nkurenkuru, and Mpungu, are represented.

At the end of the three-day conference, participants are expected to have a basic understanding of what it means to be authentically entrepreneurial and be able to apply the knowledge gained to solve their challenges.
