Organisers of the coveted Miss Namibia pageant say it is all systems go in Swakopmund this weekend.

The main pageant will be preceded by Miss Teen Namibia on Friday, followed by the big occasion on Saturday.

Organising Committee Member Beaulah Boois-Beukes says the stage is set for the contestants to showcase their talent.

The annual glam and glitz events bring together Namibians from all walks of life as well as giving a platform to local designers to showcase their creations.

Boois-Beukes says the team is putting the finishing touches on what is promised to be two nights to remember.

The main organisers, the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation and Debmarine Namibia, expect a large turnout at Swakopmund.

The Miss Namibia and Miss Teen pageants are among the most celebrated events on the Namibian calendar.

She says the pageants will be a true reflection of Namibia, as 10 finalists each for Miss Teen and Miss Namibia were scouted countrywide.

The winners of the pageants are afforded the opportunity to make a difference in society in areas of their choice and interest.
