The Bakgalagadi community met in the Aminuis Constituency to, among other things, discuss the succession plan following the death of their Chief Tidimalo Ditshabue about three years ago.
It was agreed that a list of possible candidates be compiled and that an election date be set before the end of August.
According to Senior Traditional Councillor Norman Baumakwe of the Bakgalagadi community, this is the second meeting held after the death of Chief Tidimalo Ditshabue.
Baumakwe added that development programmes are being delayed as the community operates without someone who can give directives.
"The aim of the meeting was to discuss the appointment of the new chief after the passing on of late Ditshabue, but we didn't get solutions to that, but we discussed that the council will sit about that, and it will be not later than the end of August as the council will sit."
The Bakgalagadi is a community of more than five thousand people who are predominantly found in the Aminuis Constituency.
