The Swapo Party's regional coordinator in the Zambezi Region has advised party members to begin mobilising, recruiting, and campaigning in preparation for the 2024 general elections.

Moffat Sileze said this during a vetting process meeting aimed at finding suitable and potential candidates for the district leadership position.

He urged members to work on making their constituencies stronger while working towards winning back the constituencies the party lost in the 2020 elections.

Sileze said that regional leadership would visit sections, branches, and districts in order to verify whether or not mobilisation was taking place.

The regional coordinator also cautioned against unelected members posing as leaders in the region.

"I caution such members to desist from such tendencies. If they continue confusing unsuspecting members in our districts, we shall be left with no option but to expose them. We know the real motives of this group of people; it is no joke for positions in the government in 2025 and beyond."

Sileze urged all party members to immediately report such individuals, adding that there was no room for parallel party leadership in the region.
