Brave Warriors Coach Collin Benjamin has called up a 43-men squad for the team's upcoming games. Among those called for service is former captain Rona Ketjijere, who initially retired from international football.

Ronald Stigga Ketjijere retired from international football in 2019. His last appearance for the Brave Warriors was in a match against Ivory Coast on the 1st of July 2019 at the AFCON finals in Egypt.

He has now been recalled to international football by national team coach Collin Benjamin.

Speaking at a media briefing at Soccer House, Benjamin explained his motives for calling the former captain out of retirement.

"The Mercedes-Benz Ronald Katjijere Namibia Football is back. We have been in contact with him since I took over this position. We can talk about his incredible journey in training at his club, mental and emotional preparation, leadership commitment and absolute professionalism. I don't think there is any Namibian as dedicated as he is," said Benjamin, the coach.

The Brave Warriors' first assignment is on the 9th of September, in an international friendly match away against Bafana Bafana at a yet to be confirmed venue.

That will be followed by the Confederation of African Nations' Qualifiers, a competition that will see local players getting a chance to impress their mentor.

Among the 43 players, 5 are goalkeepers, 13 defenders, 10 midfielders and 15 forwards.

Few additions to the squad were also announced, and among them are familiar names, such as Petrus Shitembi who is now signed with Kuching City in Malaysia, and Loydt Kazapua.

Blue Waters Goalkeeper Immanuel Imanuel and Mervin Kasetura of Prison IV joined the list of short stoppers too.

New faces in defence are, Utjevera Rukata of Okakarara Warriors and Ramblers' Tuli Nashixua, as well as  Chula-Chula's forward Alfeus Leevi and Nehemia Ndengu of Prison IV. They are the new frontmen joining the long list of established forwards.

" The access  for resources for our country extra extra we know what it is status but still think the team did very well we are proud of them in the sense  that higher ranking  nation  like South Africa knock on our door  to play friendly game with Cameroon" said Benjamin coach

The team will start training on Tuesday, the 22nd of August. Players will be subjected to a fitness test upon reporting for duty.
